Blossoming irritation

The next time I receive a useless bouquet of pretty flowers that last no more than a fly's life, I swear the one who presents them is going home hungry. the fixation that people have with giving out flowers is beyond me. Gifts on special occasions are supposed to be cherished forever, or atleast a few years/months. What's the use of a gift that will become rat feed 3 days later.Or if the flowers are lucky, they will become manure and help their extended family expand.

I guess people who give flowers as gifts are the laziest people on the face of this planet. And when I say lazy,it includes both mind and body. For starters, they are lazy enough not to think of the perfect gift for the person sponsoring their food and wine for the evening. Secondly, if some manage to overcome this mind boggling question that has eluded the most brilliant of minds over the years, they won't bother lifting their sorry arse to get that prized possession.

Don't people notice the hatred and curses dripping from the receiver's eyes while he/she happily accept a burden they can easliy do without on a joyous day? And the worst part is that 90% of our relatives/ffriends belong to this breed of flower gifting people. No matter how good looking the flowers are, you can't stuff all of them in your home. imagine going for a dump in the morning only to be bothered by a lily tickling your crack.I mean after a point one runs out of space.

I guess now you have a fairly good idea of what not to bring on my birthday or else you go hungry(refer to the first line in case you got lost in between my rumbling)

Hahahaha, very well written. But when will you stop dressing up for your birthday and recieve people at your doorstep. And then wait for them to leave so you can see who got what for you :P aren't you too old for all this??

@vimsical: No one is too old or too young to enjoy receiving gifts.
Only if 5 and half years did not separate us!!

Well I will disagree with you only for the heck of it.....Flowers are just a symbol...a gesture to convey those unsaid emotions of love, friendship, warmth...the archetype of blossoming emotions of new found love...of celebration and festivities...of sadness and pain...you can think of a flower for each...As an economics graduate you are very well aware that utility derived from both vision and fragrance holds its due value in our minds which may last for a long time....

PS: ok, and end to my insolent talk...just to justify those days Im broke and landed up with flowers

@ anonymous

I disagree. Do you go to a florist and tell him to make a bouquet of wedding flowers, or its-my-first-date flowers or my boss's daughter got engaged flowers?? NO. We just put flowers in a category of happiness...a very useless and overpriced celebration at that.

P.S- next time and forever and ever you are only going to get flowers from me. That fine?

I must say what a terrible sense of humor this particular blogger is imbued with. Such an irrevocable post, posits a shame to the English community at large. This post clearly defines the level of infancy the authors cranium rests on.His illusions of being comical merely rest on the notions of his community who are as repulsive and repugnant to the entire society as his psyche that tilts towards the epitome of boredom.

must admire the courage of the 'anonymous' poster to come out as the flag bearer of sanity and humour to come out and uncover the truth.
But it is clearly evident the lack of sense and life the poster is infected with. it would be advisable to take your stinking society with you.
it is sad for mankind that from a million sperms, this one went through
